Fracap is a family-owned Italian brand founded in 1908 by Antonio Cappello. After he made his first pair of shoes, it was clear that he had created a downright perfect silhouette – perceived by some as a footwear masterpiece. Originally known as Cappello, the brand became popular among local farmers as a manufacturer of extremely durable leather boots. After the war, the company was rebranded – and the name was created by merging the Italian word “fratelli” (meaning “siblings”) with “Cappello”. That’s how Fracap was born. Fracap boots own their success to the best plant-tanned Italian leather, and the fact that each shoe is made from a single piece of this high-quality material. There was a breakthrough in the 1940s, when Alfredo Cappello came up with the idea of creating a durable and comfortable shoe that could be used both for mountain hiking and for everyday occasions. Fracap hiker boots are so well-made that they can be repaired even after many years of wear. Each pair is waxed, which gives the shoes natural gloss and renders them waterproof. Trekking classics infused with the spirit of Italian design.
