By Parra is a Dutch brand created by the illustrator and artist Piet Parra, or actually Pieter "Parra" Janssen. b. In 1976, famous for his post-pop graphics and paintings. Parra, becoming one of the most important icons of urban art and fashion, transferred his characteristic illustrations in the form of graphics to his own brand. He is without a doubt one of the most famous and prolific Dutch designer artists. Parra is also a proper name for a village just outside the city of Mapusa, in North Goa, India. This village is famous for growing juicy watermelons. Pieter Janssen apart from being a co-founder of the cult clothing brand is also a member of the music band: LeLe Parra and MICH.
An interesting fact is that Parra and the most recognizable Dutch streetwear boutique - Patta have a common history. Piet's studio used to be in the same building Patta rented. Not only that, both brands have cooperated with many different brands, fully representing Amsterdam. The first breakthrough project in Parry's career was a joint project with Nike in 2005, on the Air Max 1 model, which has now become a cult and operates under the name "Amsterdam" reaching astronomical sums on the secondary market. The project was inspired by the red district - Red Light District. Collaborative projects with Nike are considered the best ever. Parra, along with its subrand Rockwell, has collaborated with the largest brands from around the world. His portfolio already includes projects created together with Ben & amp; Jerry, Heineken, Volkswagen, Zoo York or the aforementioned Nike brand.
