- The Mediterranean Sea have a long history of hosting epic regattas that celebrate the passion and heritage of sailing. In 1981, Dick and Celia Jayson, aboard their Swan 44, joined forces with Patrice de Colmont and skipper Jean Laurain to create the Nioulargue regatta in Saint-Tropez, later renamed Voiles de Saint-Tropez in 1999. Now the most important sailing event in the Mediterranean, it attracts more than 250 boats each year, combining classic and modern vessels.
