Clarks was founded by brothers Cyrus and James Clark in 1825. They initially gained fame for their unique sheepskin slippers, called the "Brown Petersburgh," which became popular in the UK. By 1842, they were selling 1,000 pairs per month. The company faced significant challenges during a recession in 1863 but recovered under William Clark. This was a turning point for them, introducing the first shoe designed to fit the natural shape of your foot. 

From the 20th century till date, they have kept up with changing fashion trends and adapted effectively while staying true to their roots. Even today the company continues to grow attracting various celebrities and bigger brands. One of their biggest collaborations was KITH. This collaboration with Clarks, launched in 2021, features the 8th St collection which includes the Sandford and Lockhill models, inspired by the vibrant NYC shoe scene of the 1990s. This partnership celebrates classic footwear aesthetics while integrating modern design elements, showcasing KITH founder Ronnie Fieg's vision for stylish and functional shoes.
