The company is famous for evolving its style with time and its products have become a go-to option for loads of athletes in different sports. Short history behind Reebok LTD

The history of the Reebok LTD brand dates far back to the1890s, when it was founded in Bolton, UK by Joseph William Foster. Initially, Foster was working under his grandfather’s apprenticeship, learning the craft of shoemaking. 

During the 1900s, Foster started a company called JW Foster, where he and his sons came up with different shoe designs that catered to athletes. The brand start gaining popularity because of its running pumps, worn by athletes during competition. As time passed, Foster’s grandson took over the company in 1958 and changed its name to Reebok. 

In 2023, the brand partnered with Authentic Brands Group and the New Guards Group and is now called Reebok LTD. 

A focus on performance based technology

With Reebok making a mark in the sports world, its designers shifted their focus to create shoes that would give athletes a competitive advantage. This is led to the introduction of pumps, which became famous after a rookie player’s extraordinary performance in a slam dunk contest.

While initially used by professional athletes, pumps became famous among non-athletes as well, becoming something of a status symbol. Reebok joined hands with ABG and NGG to dip its feet in the luxury fashion world. After becoming Reebok LTD, the company started a new chapter, taking inspiration from its styles from the past, blending it with contemporary and futuristic styles for its cotton T-shirts, leather sliders and tons of other products.
